I was after the Sunday service when, with a heavy heart, I approached the father of the church. "Father," I began, "this will be my last visit to the church."

The father looked at me with calm understanding and asked me: "But why, my son, why did you choose not to come?"

With a wave of displeasure, I replied, "I've noticed a lot here that disturbs me. The pew sometimes sings falsely; people talk behind their backs, young people don't seem to respect the sanctity of the place, phones are ringing, and children are running around chaotically... All this distracts me and disturbs my peace."

The father listened to me and then, with a gentleness in his voice, proposed: "Before making this final decision, I have a small request for you. Take this glass full of water and go around the church three times, taking care not to not even a drop."

I accepted the challenge, thinking it would be an easy thing to do. I took the glass and began to walk around the church, concentrating intensely on the glass so as not to spill the water.

After completing the three rounds, I returned triumphantly to my father. "I did it, Father; I didn't spill a drop!"

The priest smiled and asked me, "And while you were concentrating on the glass, did you notice anything around the church? Did you see the people passing by, the children playing, or the surrounding nature?"

"No, Father, I did not notice any of this," I replied in wonder.

"Then," he said, "do you realize how much you can ignore when you focus on one thing? In the church, if you channel your attention and heart into prayer and God's presence, everything else becomes insignificant. Don't let imperfections and the world's amusements overshadow your spiritual pursuit."

These words opened my eyes. I understand that true peace and fulfilment are not found externally but in how we focus and live our spiritual path. Since then, I began to look at church services and my spiritual life with a new perspective, focusing on what is essential.
